Scott is a graduate of Laurentian University in Sudbury. Thereafter he attended Law School in Ottawa and graduated with an LL.B. in May of 2000. He was called to the Bar of Ontario in February 2002. After his call, Scott practised in Toronto as a partner with Kostyniuk & Greenside until 2014. His practice was principally that of personal injury and insurance issues. He has acted both on behalf of Plaintiffs and Defendants in these matters. He has experience in Judge alone and Jury Trials in Milton, Toronto, Kitchener, Sault Ste Marie, Timmins and Sudbury. In addition to his Trial experience in the Superior Court, he has argued appeals in the Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, appeared before the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, the Licensing Appeals Tribunal, as well as the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal. Scott returned to the Sudbury area in 2014 where he continues to practice bilingually as partner with Weaver Simmons, on behalf of Plaintiffs and Defendants involved in Insurance and other civil litigation matters. Furthermore, over the past 6 years, Scott has assisted parties all over Ontario as Mediator. Finally, Scott was appointed Deputy Judge of Small Claims court in November 2021.
