Jo-Anne is a lawyer who has been in a general practice for the last 38 years with offices in Timmins and in the small town of Matheson. She is a graduate of the University of Windsor, and worked briefly for the Office of the Ombudsman out of its North Bay office, after her call to the Bar. She is also a graduate of the Program of Instruction for Lawyers (“PIL”) from Harvard Law School.
Jo-Anne was the local Area Director of Legal Aid Ontario for the District of Cochrane for 25 years until the office was converted to a regional office in 2010. For the last few years, Jo-Anne has restricted her practice to real estate, estates, wills and powers of attorney, but is also providing duty counsel services to the fly-in Courts on the James Bay coast. Jo-Anne is a member of Council for the Township of Black River-Matheson, an active member of the Rotary Club of Matheson, and enjoys spending time at her cottage on Watabeag Lake.
